Microdermabrasion is an advanced exfoliating technique helps to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new skin cells for a radiant and rejuvenated result. If you imagine your skin as being made of wood, exfoliating at home can be likened to using a fine grain sanding paper, while microdermabrasion works like a sanding machine, removing the coarse surface areas to reveal a smooth, polished final result.

 

How does Microdermabrasion work? 
There are two types of microdermabrasion, crystal and diamond. At Ultraceuticals, we rely on the preferred diamond method, where wands encrusted with diamond chips superficially polish the skin without leaving any particles behind. Diamond microdermabrasion has no potential for infection, unlike with the crystal method where one of the crystals can get lodged in the skin. The high-speed instrument will work to remove your skin’s outer layer, but it is gentle enough that you won’t require any numbing or anaesthetic.
After a session, your skin may be slightly pink, but this is only a temporary effect, and should fade within 24 hours. This result is your face and body experience improved texture, appearance and tone, with key ingredients able to work more effectively upon the skin.
