Ageing relates to the decline in collagen production and then the breakdown of existing collagen and elastin fibres. You may notice fine lines starting to develop along with volume loss, the skin beginning to sag and loose elasticity. This is also caused from cell turnover. As we age our cell turnover starts to slow down causing dull, sluggish (or lifeless) skin. When treating ageing skin our focus is to rebuild the structures of the skin and ensure all cells are functioning to the best of their ability.
